๐Ÿ’ก Did you know?
Most artists are
not contacted after every submission. If you don’t hear from us, it simply means the client has chosen different artists for that particular brief. We continue submitting you for future opportunities whenever your profile matches the client’s requirements.

Castings & Submissions

One of the most common questions we receive is, “How do castings and submissions work?”

This page explains how the process works and what you can realistically expect during your time with Bizzy Agency.

How We Receive Work

Casting opportunities come to us from a wide range of clients, including casting directors, production companies, advertising agencies, photographers and brands.

Every casting brief is different.

Some clients are looking for one very specific person, whilst others ask us to submit a wider selection of suitable artists.

How Artists Are Selected

Our bookers carefully compare every casting brief against the artists on our books.

They consider many factors, including:

โ— Age

โ— Height

โ— Appearance

โ— Location

โ— Availability

โ— Skills

โ— Accents

โ— Experience

โ— Training

โ— Photographs

โ— Videos

โ— Measurements

โ— Licence status (where applicable)

โ— Any other requirements specified by the client

Many clients also search our database directly and choose artists themselves.

Do I Need to Apply for Castings?

No.

In most cases, our bookers submit suitable artists directly to the client on your behalf.

You do not need to search for or apply for the vast majority of castings yourself.

Why Aren’t All Castings Posted in Telegram?

Our Telegram groups are used for important agency announcements, reminders and the occasional highly specific casting request.

The vast majority of casting opportunities are not posted there.

Most submissions are handled directly by our bookers through our agency database and professional casting platforms.

We usually only post a casting in Telegram when a client is looking for something particularly specific that cannot easily be searched within our database.

For example:

โ— A particular language

โ— A rare skill

โ— A specialist hobby

โ— A specific musical instrument

โ— A very unusual appearance

Why Haven’t I Received an Audition Yet?

Every artist’s journey is different.

Some artists receive auditions or bookings very quickly.

Others may wait weeks or even several months before receiving their first opportunity.

This does not mean we have forgotten about you or that you are not being considered.

The opportunities you receive depend entirely on the types of casting briefs we receive and whether your profile matches the client’s requirements at that particular time.

Does Joining Bizzy Agency Guarantee Work?

No.

No agency can guarantee auditions, self-tapes or bookings.

Our role is to market and submit suitable artists for appropriate opportunities, but all final casting decisions are made by the client.

Why Keeping Your Profile Updated Matters

A complete and up-to-date profile gives our bookers and casting directors the best possible information when deciding who to submit.

Clients also search artist profiles directly, so keeping your photographs, measurements, videos, skills and availability current can significantly improve your chances of being considered.

Self-Tapes

If a client is interested in your profile, they may invite you to submit a self-tape.

If you receive a self-tape request, please respond promptly by confirming or declining your availability.

Self-tapes almost always have very short deadlines, so delayed responses may result in the opportunity being offered to another artist.

Always read the casting brief carefully and follow every instruction before filming.

Availability

Please keep your Profile Calendar up to date.

If you become unavailable due to holidays, school trips, examinations, work commitments or any other reason, please update your calendar as soon as possible.

This helps prevent unnecessary availability requests and allows our bookers to submit artists who are genuinely available.

๐ŸŽฌ Typical Casting Journey

Every casting is different, so not every job follows every stage below. Some clients book artists immediately, whilst others require auditions or additional checks before making a final decision.

๐Ÿ“‹ 1. Client Sends a Brief

A client contacts Bizzy Agency with details of the artists they are looking for.

Every brief is different and may include specific requirements such as age, appearance, height, location, skills, accents, availability or experience.

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐ŸŽฏ 2. We Submit Suitable Artists

Our bookers carefully search our database and submit the artists who best match the client’s requirements.

Once submissions have been sent, we continue working on other casting briefs while waiting for the client’s response.

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘€ 3. Client Reviews the Submissions

The client reviews all submissions received.

At this stage they may:

  • Request additional photographs
  • Request further information
  • Carry out an availability check
  • Invite selected artists to audition
  • Book an artist immediately without an audition

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐ŸŽฌ 4. Audition Stage (If Required)

The client may request:

  • A self-tape audition
  • A live audition
  • One or more recall auditions

Some jobs skip this stage completely and move straight to booking.

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿ“… 5. Pencil

If the client is seriously considering you, they may place you on a Pencil.

A Pencil is a temporary reservation while the client makes their final decision.

Whilst you are pencilled, we will usually be unable to submit you for other work taking place on the same dates.

A Pencil is not a confirmed booking.

โฌ‡๏ธ

โœ… 6. Confirmation

Once the client confirms the booking, we’ll send you everything you need to know, including:

  • Dates
  • Times
  • Location
  • Fees
  • Wardrobe requirements (where applicable)
  • Any additional instructions from the client

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐ŸŽฅ 7. The Booking

You attend the booking and carry out the work.

Please arrive on time, follow all instructions and represent both yourself and Bizzy Agency professionally.

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿงพ 8. We Invoice the Client

Once the work has been completed, Bizzy Agency invoices the client.

โฌ‡๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ท 9. You Get Paid

Once payment has been received from the client, Bizzy Agency deducts the agreed agency commission and pays the remaining balance directly to the artist.

๐Ÿ“Œ Important

Every production works differently. Some jobs move through every stage above, whilst others may skip several stages entirely.

For children from newborn up to the day they leave compulsory school age, all bookings remain subject to the relevant Local Authority issuing the required Child Performance Licence before the child can legally take part in the production.

Please Remember

Every production works differently. Some castings move through every stage above, whilst others may skip several steps. It is perfectly normal for different jobs to follow different processes.

For children from newborn up to the day they leave compulsory school age: Once a booking has been confirmed, we must apply for a Child Performance Licence from the relevant Local Authority before the child can legally take part in the production.

Each Local Authority has its own processing times and requirements. Whilst we always submit licence applications as quickly as possible, there may occasionally be situations where a licence cannot be issued in time, particularly if the client has provided very short notice.

Although this is frustrating, all bookings for children from newborn up to the day they leave compulsory school age remain subject to the relevant Local Authority issuing the required Child Performance Licence.
