Casting Tapes

A casting tape allows casting directors to see and hear an artist before deciding whether to invite them to audition.

A casting is an audition, and there are 2 ways of having one ready on your profile. Most clients now expect artists to have one or both of the following videos on their profile, and many will not consider submissions without them. Having both is always best if you can!

1. Ident (Casting Tape) – Compulsory for artists aged 4+

A short introduction of approximately 30 seconds where the artist introduces themselves and tells us a little about themselves. This helps casting directors see the artist’s personality, confidence, natural accent and how they come across on camera.

2. 360 Tape

A full-length head-to-toe video showing the artist turning slowly through one complete circle. This allows casting directors to see the artist from every angle and is becoming increasingly requested by clients.

The 360 Tape is now strongly recommended for all artists and is particularly important for older children, teenagers and adults. We understand that some younger children (around ages 4–6) may not yet feel confident completing a 360 Tape, but they must still have an Ident (Casting Tape).

Children under the age of 4 should not use this form. Instead, upload their Introduction Video to YouTube and add the direct link to the Weblinks section of their profile.

Once approved, we will add your video(s) to your profile. Please remember to update them whenever there is a significant change to the artist’s appearance, hairstyle or confidence.

Before You Film

Please ensure that:

  • The room is quiet and well lit.
  • The background is plain, light coloured and uncluttered.
  • There are no other people or pets in the background.
  • Your phone or camera is completely steady using a tripod or secure support.
  • The artist wears simple, fitted clothing in plain colours with no busy patterns or large logos.
  • The artist looks as they currently do in their profile photographs.
  • There is no background music, heavy make-up or filters.
  • The artist speaks clearly, naturally and with their own accent.

Avoid filming in front of a bright window, as this will make the artist appear as a silhouette.

How to Film Your Ident (Casting Tape)

Unless a casting brief specifically says otherwise, your Ident should always be filmed in landscape.

Frame the artist from approximately the chest upwards, with their eyes level with the camera.

The artist should say:

  • Their name
  • Their location
  • “I am represented by Bizzy Agency.”

Please do not mention age, as this quickly becomes out of date, and please do not say “BizzyKidz.”

The artist should then tell us a little about themselves, such as:

  • Hobbies
  • Interests
  • Skills
  • A fun fact
  • Anything that shows their personality

Aim for approximately 30 seconds.

Keep the delivery relaxed, friendly and natural.

How to Film Your 360 Tape

The artist should be visible from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet throughout the recording.

They should:

  • Stand facing the camera.
  • Turn slowly and smoothly through one complete 360° turn.
  • Keep their arms relaxed by their sides.
  • Wear fitted, plain clothing that clearly shows their silhouette.
  • Avoid busy patterns or large logos.

Once the 360 turn has been completed, the artist should walk closer to the camera so they are framed head and shoulders, then clearly state:

  • Their name
  • Their location
  • “I am represented by Bizzy Agency.”

Use whichever camera orientation allows the artist to be seen clearly from head to toe throughout the 360 turn.

Upload to YouTube

Please do not email video files to us, as large attachments are often rejected or sent to spam.

Instead:

  1. Film and save your video.
  2. Upload it to YouTube.
  3. Set the video’s privacy to Unlisted so that only people with the link can view it.
  4. Copy the direct YouTube link.
